Impressive performance. What did everyone think? I haven't seen a titled tuesday with such a commanding performance by anyone in a long long time.
I was more surprised Nakamura didn't get clear second and challenge for first, he is usually very strong and I would even expect him to beat Carlsen.
I think he must have had a good laugh on the Scholar's mate attempt. If the newest docs say anything about him, I highly recommend it, by the way. But I am not surprised, he's an excellent player.
Scholar's mate, you never know, a little bit of distraction and BOOM! I bet after the opponent realized he wasn't gonna mate him he knew the result out of his opening was going to be catastrophic. This is why you need some good chess openings I recommend the book by John Bartholomew
It's not Carlsen but what do you think about the game analysis of Wesley So, the aspiring champion https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-sublime-moves-of-americas-new-chess-champion/ Even chess engines seem to think this was an exquisite match.
That was a great game, deserving of its own thread perhaps!! Thanks for sharing
